The four legs are turned from solid walnut before being fitted with adjustable brass sabots — conical feet in polished brass that elevate the piece visually and recall the hardware of late-1950s American furniture studios. A lower shelf, constructed from the same walnut stock, provides a landing for books, objects, or a basket. The narrow 35 cm depth makes it suitable for hallways as tight as 90 cm wide. Oil-wax finish; the brass will develop a living patina over time. Lacquered brass option available for those who prefer a static finish.
